On November 1, an event held at the Lewré Bespoke Boutique in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, became a platform to inspire further innovation and collaboration in the world of fashion.
Lewré Holdings, in collaboration with Weng Meng’s innovative LC+ patented technology and renowned Malaysian designer Key Ng, presented The Power of Nature fashion preview.
Supported by Sunway College and STYLO’s Fashion Design Technology Hub, the exclusive event highlighted how eco-conscious fashion can be redefined through the lens of circular economy principles.
Lewré Holdings is a leading name in bespoke and sustainable shoe fashion, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative technology. Known for its commitment to environmental sustainability, Lewré continuously pioneers new approaches to fashion by using eco-friendly materials and following circular design principles.
Weng Meng’s LC+ is a patented technology focused on sustainable development, providing eco-innovative solutions that contribute to a circular economy. The collaboration between Weng Meng and Lewré Holdings represents a groundbreaking effort to merge sustainability with fashion innovation.
Weng Meng’s latest product, LCt, recaptures the lost value of waste from the palm oil industry and converts it into a productive resource for their door business. Through product innovation initiatives, the company has successfully re-engineered and re-manufactured discarded oil palm trunks into sustainable and durable door core material.
In May of this year, the idea of making heels of wooden clogs came to mind, and a collaboration began with Lewré, the shoemaker, to produce a unique collection of high-heel wooden clogs.
Sunway College & STYLO’s Fashion Design Technology hub came in with the upper of a pretty pair that was displayed. The college also showcased fashion using smooth, high-quality fabrics made from oyster shells.
Guiding the launch with poise and charm was multi-award-winning celebrity emcee Julianne Tan, a passionate supporter of sustainable fashion, who also wore the brand-new collection from KL Green Fashion during the event.
At the heart of all these partnerships is a dedication to reducing waste, promoting the use of sustainable materials, and contributing to a circular economy.
The collection utilises eco-friendly wooden components and renewable resources, designed to be durable, timeless, and recyclable. By emphasising local craftsmanship and sustainable production processes, this initiative aligns with the broader goals of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, pushing fashion toward a greener, more responsible future.
The Power of Nature show, attended by fashion enthusiasts, media, and sustainability advocates, allowed everyone to experience a one-of-a-kind showcase.
More than just a fashion statement, it was a powerful symbol of how circular fashion can merge beauty and purpose, minimising environmental impact while empowering communities through sustainable livelihoods and celebrating the potential of nature to shape the future of fashion.
