As a company that relies on wood and natural resources, we are conscious that the Planet is our biggest partner. We integrate sustainability practices in all aspects of our business and wish to make the right choices to protect the future.
To become a sustainable role model company that creates positive impact to People and Place.
To achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Our Net Zero 2050 aspiration capitalises on the maturity of our ESG (environmental, social & governance) practices. We strive to build the best products, with reduced carbon emissions and zero waste. We hope to use our business to inspire and innovate solutions for global environmental concerns and secure long term value for our company.
To navigate our path to Net Zero, we have adopted a new mindset and embraced the circular economy business model. We have moved from a linear ‘take-make-waste’ approach to a closed-loop model that prioritizes moreefficient use of resources, and a regenerative approach to business. We are rethinking how products are conceptualised, how we can build them so they are more durable, how we can eradicate waste streams, and how, at end use, we can transfer them back into the supply chain to be reuse multiple times.
Weng Meng’s products are made primarily from wood and natural resources. We support sustainable forestry practices by purchasing timber from certified companies that comply with environmental legislation, both national and international. Our products come from regenerating forests, where biodiversity is maintained for future generations. We scout for new materials, particularly renewable and recyclable materials that are already in circulation, to not only minimise waste but to divert them into productive inputs.
One such innovation by Weng Meng is our latest product, LC+. It converts palm oil waste into a productive resource for our business. Through product innovation initiatives, we have successfully reengineered and remanufactured discarded palm oil trunks into a sustainable and durable core material.
We undertook FSC and PEFC certifications too. Check the certification page for more details.

Our company invests heavily in research and development to develop innovative technologies for the production of sustainable products – special attention is given to optimal utilisation and processing of materials. We evaluate the environmental impact of our products and their components from the concept stage to the end-use. We ensure maximum value is gathered from the resources used, including efficient recovery of chemicals, water and energy.
At Weng Meng, we are continuously on the lookout for greener materials. We also utilise energy to its maximum efficiency, subscribing to renewable energy sources where possible, such as the use of solar energy with NEM 3.0 approval @ 1MV. Our environmental footprint is further minimised by introducing efficiency in our distribution processes. We also organise our transportation routes to minimise energy requirements, whilst maximising transport loads.

As a circular business, we are forced to think in a regenerative manner about how we build our products so that they last longer, are more durable and can be easily repaired or refurbished over time. With long-term thinking and technological innovation, creating profitable products with minimum or zero waste is increasingly possible. We do this by factoring circularity into the product design, manufacturing and logistics processes rather than treat waste as an afterthought. At Weng Meng, we are already considering what will become of our doors after the user discards it. We are looking at at a buy-back programme and technologies to repair, reuse and recycle these doors for as long as possible.

As we move beyond merely minimising our negative impact and gearing ourselves to become net positive, we are constantly in search for new projects and/or business opportunities that are aligned with our vision. We believe that by working closely together with partners, within and beyond our industry, we can discover, develop and deliver the best value for our products.
Collaboration is key for resilience in our circular economy strategy. Essentially we are creating a virtuous loop where one company’s waste becomes another’s raw material input. It is a push for industrial symbiosis, where companies across industries connect on new levels to create loops that are mutually beneficial.
